ORGANIZATIONS COLLABORATE TO RAISE VISIBILITY ON TECHNOLOGY SECTOR’S GROWING IMPACT ON DC ECONOMY
Washington, DC—January 24, 2008—To bring more visibility to the rapidly growing technology sector in the District, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) will begin a collaborative relationship with the Washington DC Technology Council effective February 1, 2008. Next to Silicon Valley, the greater Washington region is a leading technology center and by some estimates employs more people in technology than any other area in the US.

WASHINGTON, DC ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP SOLICITS BIDS FOR REPORT ON GREEN COLLAR JOB DEMAND IN DISTRICT
Washington, DC—January 22, 2008-With more cities and states taking action to address energy efficiency, renewable fuels, green buildings and climate protection, a whole new green economic sector is emerging, along with a growing demand for green collar jobs, particularly in DC. The District’s passage of the Green Building Act and other public policy initiatives has created a growing green economy and demand for jobs in this sector. To assist both the government and business community in understanding the region’s emerging green workforce, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP), on behalf of the District of Columbia, has issued a request for proposals (RFP) from firms to conduct a green collar job demand analysis.
