WDCEP Undertakes a Comprehensive Site Location Survey

This summer, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership has acquired four interns to complete our first ever comprehensive site location survey. Our interns are canvassing the city's commercial corridors-photographing and recording information on occupied and vacant mixed-use, retail, and commercial storefronts.

From Wisconsin Avenue to Rhode Island Avenue to South Capitol Street, our interns are focusing their efforts on corridors not covered by an existing neighborhood BID or CID. Utilizing new cameras with built-in GPS technology, our goal is to have the city's first comprehensive site database which will continue to be updated throughout the year.

Our interns are Adam Young, a rising-senior at The George Washington University; Dave Clark, a rising-sophomore at Utah Valley University; Matt Kruczlnicki, a rising-senior at Providence College; and Sam Prendergast, a rising-junior at Boston College.

DC Business Owners: Take Our Survey

The Washington, DC Economic Partnership, the Department of Small and Local Business Development, and Social Compact are conducting a 20-minute on-line business environment survey in the District in an effort to gain a clearer understanding of the issues and burdens that DC businesses encounter and to gain a better sense of what services are most needed. The input from your business is essential, and we appreciate your time and contribution. Please note that you are able to save responses and go back to them at any time without having to start over again. TAKE SURVEY .

Changes to DSLBD's Certified Business Enterprise Revolving Micro Loan Fund Program

Last month, the Mayor signed into law legislation that changed the definition of eligible recipient of the DC Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) Revolving Micro Loan Fund Program. Now the program is open to businesses certified by DSLBD as small or disadvantaged. The Micro Loan Program previously required an eligible recipient to be a business certified as small and disadvantaged. Due to the modification, businesses with any of these designations are eligible to apply for loans of $15,000 to $25,000 based on emergency (90 days) and temporary (225 days) legislation.
