Description:  
Located in southeast Washington, DC, the planned redevelopment of the 18.5-acre Skyland Shopping Center into a new, walkable, mixed-use town center is a major initiative of the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development in partnership with a development team led by The Rappaport Companies and William C. Smith & Company. The site will incorporate four blocks of mixed-retail and residential development including three stand-alone structured parking decks. The developer is currently in talks with major national retailers to anchor the project. The project will receive about $40 million in TIF financing. Phase I is scheduled to deliver in 8/2012 and Phase II could deliver by 6/2014.
