Description:  
Highland Addition is located at 9th and Valley Avenue. The first nine-acre phase calls to build 138 residential units (single-family detached, semi-detached, stacked flats and row homes) in a mixed-income community on about 9 acres of vacant land. The project will contain 30 low-income rental homes and 108 mixed-income for sale units. The project has submitted for $22 million in HOPE VI grants. The second phase will occupy eight acres and include 261 residential units (118 rental & 143 for-sale townhomes). The site was formerly public housing units and was demolished in 2001.
