The Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) honored Small Business Award winners PRM Consulting (Small Business of the Year), W.T. Weaver & Sons (100 Year Old DC Business of the Year), and Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce (Small Business Initiative of the Year), and the Business Plan Competition winner, Affinity Lab, at the second annual WDCEP Small Business Awards ceremony (2008 SBA video highlights now available).
About the Business Plan Competition
The Washington, DC Economic Partnership's Business Plan Competition is the only annual program of its kind developed on behalf of the District of Columbia to support District-based entrepreneurs. The initiative, administered by the Washington, DC Economic Partnership's Business Resource program, is funded by participants in the District of Columbia CAPCO Program and is held in collaboration with the DC Coalition for Capital. The current year of 2009, serves as the inaugural year of the competition and is aimed to encourage entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation within the District of Columbia.
The Business Plan Competition is open to existing DC headquartered businesses with at least one year of operating history. The 2010 Washington, DC Economic Partnership Business Plan Competition competition is supported by sponsors.

Competition Goal
The WCDEP Business Plan Competition has been organized to promote entrepreneurship and the development of early stage companies in the District of Columbia. The goal of this initiative is to fund original business concepts that will lead to the continued development of new enterprise and further job creation within the District of Columbia.
